late August and early September, the alpine tundra explodes
with vibrant colors. (Mt. McKinley is the large white mountain
in the center of the photograph.) You will also find wild
blueberries and cranberries in rich profusion starting in
early August. The hardy cranberry can be picked into late
September on account of its ability to survive even the
harshest frost. |
