Anchorage, Alaska: Spirit Houses at Eklutna Historical Park

klutna Historical Park is 26 miles north of Anchorage. The Eklutna Park has tours describing the Dena'ina Indian lifestyle. Eklutna dates back to 1650, and blends Athabascan Indian & Russian Orthodox customs. These brightly painted graves are called "spirit houses."
